What We Are Learning

Outcomes (may vary by classroom):

• Students will learn about families and practice identifying family members and who they are in their family (e.g. sister/brother, daughter)
• Students will learn and explore various cultures represented in the class
• Students will learn about different foods harvested in the fall; fruit versus vegetable
• Continue communicating what they see, hear, feel, taste, touch (accommodations made as appropriate)
• Make noticings about the weather and changes in the environment
• Continue to follow Listening Rules and learn character traits through Second Step

Sample Activities (may vary by classroom):

• Picture recognition activities paired with written name and also family members
• Sharing a piece of one’s culture or family tradition through artifacts, flags, etc. 
• Mindfulness activities including breathing exercises (e.g. Balloon breath, Drain breath)
• Activities related to the weather/nature, items in the environment including leaves  (e.g. nature walk, clothing match up)
