2nd Grade Native American Museum Exhibition PBL
“How can you, as a curator, create a display for the Museum of the American Indian that teachers kids about the lives of the Powhatan, Lakota and Pueblo people?” This driving question guided student learning in this project based learning (PBL) opportunity. Our 2nd graders created realistic displays to share their learning. Families, staff, & students from other grade levels were invited to attend the 2nd Grade exhibit. Those in attendance provided an authentic audience for our 2nd grade curators to present their displays to.
The Portrait of a Graduate (POG) attribute of Communicator was a focus for these students throughout this project. Students spoke so others could understand them and wrote to share their ideas.
