Important Dates & Reminders

• February 2 - Groundhog Day
• February 14 - Valentine’s Day AND the 100th Day of School
• February 21 - President’s Day, No school

• Make sure your child comes to school with a snack, water bottle, and an extra mask every day. 
• Contact the attendance office if there is a change to your child’s schedule.
• Watch for information about your child and Valentines. 

Language Arts

What We Learned This Past Month:

• We completed our study of poetry. We read many different types of poems & tried using some of the techniques in our own poetry writing.

What We Will Be Learning Next Month: 

• We begin exploring Realistic Fiction. After learning about what makes a realistic fiction story, we’ll also begin writing our own pieces!

Math

What We Learned This Past Month:

• We finished our work with reading, writing, and identifying 3-digit numbers. We noticed many counting patterns and got to 1,000!

What We Will Be Learning Next Month: 

• Next, we will take a look at reading & writing fractions such as ½, ¼, & ⅓. We’ll also learn all about equal parts.

Science

What We Learned This Past Month:

Upon the conclusion of our Weather Unit, we became meteorologists by learning how to observe, measure, and track changes in weather. We also learned to identify different types of storms.

Social Studies

What We Will Be Learning Next Month:

• We will look at the contributions of some European explorers & some important Americans
• We will investigate some basic economic ideas in our world today.
