Reminders

• Make sure your child comes to school with a snack, water bottle, and an extra mask every day. 
• Contact the attendance office if there is a change to your child’s schedule.

Language Arts

What We Learned This Past Month:

• We completed our Nonfiction unit and started our Poetry unit. Students are learning how to develop their opinions of poetry and respond to poetry in a variety of ways.

What We Will Be Learning Next Month: 

• We will continue to read and write poetry. Students will learn different techniques that poets use and apply them to the poems they write.
• We will then begin our Realistic Fiction unit.

Math

What We Learned This Past Month:

• We continued our Addition and Subtraction unit. Students learned strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems efficiently.

What We Will Be Learning Next Month: 

• We will begin the second part of our Base Ten unit. We will extend our place value knowledge to the hundreds place.

Science

What We Will Be Learning Next Month:

We will begin our Weather Unit. Students will learn how to observe, measure, and track changes in weather. We will also learn to identify different types of storms.

Social Studies

What We Learned This Past Month:

• We continued learning about Native Americans and compared the lives and contributions of American Indian cultures of the past and present.
