Language Arts

What We Learned This Past Month:

Our students have been learning fundamental early reading behaviors such as one-to-one word match, print directionality, locating known words, and unknown words in text. We have been learning more about print concepts and understanding that words and pictures in text have meaning. Our students have also been learning to communicate meaning through independent drawing and writing. We are continuing our word study unit on building alphabet knowledge and phonemic awareness through engaging in meaningful small group lessons and independent activities.

What We Will Be Learning Next Month:

In November, we will use early reading & writing behaviors as we explore patterns in books and begin learning about letter-sound relationships.
